Bio

Multi-discipline artist Catalina holds an honors BA from UCLA and an MFA from Otis Art Institute. She is winner of the New York Art Directors Award and in 2016 was selected for LACDA’s “Top 40” international digital artists competition, curated by Mat Gleason (Coagula Curatorial) and Kathryn Poindexter (California Museum of Photography). Catalina is also a member of ArtTable, an organization based in New York for professional women in art.

Catalina has successfully worked in mediums as varied as photography, printing-making, painting, sculpture and installations. As a printmaker her work has been distributed world-wide as limited editions and photographic posters.

Catalina was founder and CEO of Art of Peace Imagine 501 ( c ) 3 aka Art.Peace.Imagine 2009-2017. The Artist Peace Chairs by youth at risk were placed throughout Santa Barbara County schools and beyond. In 2010 Art.Peace.Imagine was awarded a booth at the LA Art Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center which featured Catalina’s Peace Garden and indoor Peace River and was seen by over 40,000 visitors. In 2014 Art.Peace.Imagine went to India to do a Peace Bench workshop at the Piyali Learning Center for disadvantaged girls. An award winning documentary film directed and filmed by Bob Williams showcased the project to a variety of audiences and the internet made it available to audiences around the world.

Catalina currently works out of her art studio in the Santa Rita Hills wine country of Santa Barbara County, California focusing on oil paintings and her passion for The Art of Ocean expressed in photographs and installations. She is also an avid equestrian and writer.
